The AMADPOC creates and participates in platforms for dialogue on issues concerning migration-development nexus through workshops, meetings, conferences, seminars and networks. The Policy, Dialogue and Networking (PDN) service allows us to develop bespoke events bringing together key stakeholder to discuss research findings, present on migration and development related topics that need development for further research and training as well as identify policy development and programmes. It also allows stakeholders to take stock of the pertinent issues that need to be addressed and discuss a range of solutions.
AMADPOC has hosted the First African Migration and Urbanisation Conference in 2012 bringing together regional and national migration experts from across Africa and beyond. The Conference was part of the Migrating Out of Poverty Research Programme Consortium. In 2017, it provided organisational support to the International Development Research Centre (IDRC) to host the Youth, Socio-Economic Vulnerability, Exclusion Inequality and Violence in Africa (YOVEX) in Nairobi, Kenya. AMADPOC is open to collaborating with key actors to bring together migration expertise to discussion migration and related issues that impact Africa. Publications under this programme include Policy Briefs, Working Papers, Discussion Papers and a quarterly newsletter, inforgaphics among others.
